Bringing the Outdoors Online

Originally a manufacturer of outdoor clothing and gear for other brands, Mason is now branching out with their own ecommerce label. A startup hiding inside of an established business, Mason needed a full brand and digital build-out online and in-store. Mason is a brand representing rugged individualism with deep customization of products.

TARGET AUDIENCE

  • Outdoorsman who has trouble finding clothing and gear in his size

  • Wants field tested gear and clothing that comes with a full warranty

  • Wants tough-as-nails construction

  • Needs field reports and customer reviews to purchase

Starting at Basecamp

  • Full branding package including logo, brand guidelines, color palette, and typefaces.

  • Conducted full user research, user personas, and stories

  • Mapped out the full workflow

  • Created the user experience design across platforms and browsers

  • Designed a mobile app experience that sent push notifications, SMS text messages as an integration with a CRM to increase sales

  • Built processes to show new and existing customers promotional offers and recommendations that align with their browsing or previous orders

  • Crafted a full product configurator to custom tailor items of clothing to the customer's needs

Information architecture - Configurator

  • Stepped pathway to help the user find the perfect fit

  • 3-D model viewer / editor to allow rotation of model, zoom, and move of model. Changes model build and clothing color based on configurator choices

  • Sets user preferences into database for present and future use. Can be used for custom product push notifications and email marketing specific to the user.

  • Ability to edit configurator data through account if body specifications change

  • Purchase pathway based on configurator data supplied by user

  • Transactional email triggers based on account changes or purchases

  • Conversion tracking to properly attribute sales

  • Breakdown of full menu
